Coffee Sacrilege

So this morning I'm drinking Dunkin Donut's Chocolate Donut Coffee.  The reason is that I wanted to try something new, and the store I went to didn't have their Pumpkin Spice blend, which is the greatest coffee of all time!!!

Anyway, the reason why I titled this post Coffee Sacrilege is because I have to say, I feel that Dunkin Donut's coffee is superior to Starbucks in almost every way.  Less acidic, tastes better, cheaper...  Anyway, if you're a coffee lover and love Starbucks and haven't tasted them side-by-side, I highly recommend you do!  I promise you won't be disappointed with Dunkin Donut's coffee!  Just my humble opinion.  Love you all!!! <3

Finished the First Wave of Edits on Madison 2

Don't worry, Madison 2 is just a working title, I hope to come up with something more creative than that!  So the good news is I've edited it myself before sending it to people close to me to get their opinions and expertise on it.  I've also sent a copy for review to Tess Watson, whose opinion I greatly respect.  My goal is to write a book worthy of her 5-stars, and I'm asking for her help to do just that!  If you aren't familiar with her blog, I HIGHLY recommend you check it out here!

Madison 2 - Edits

Hey Everyone, I just hit page 200 in my edits.  They are slow going because of my day job and moving.  My life has been crazy busy, much like yours probably is!  Anyway, just wanted to let people know that the book is definitely in the works, and those that I promised to give advance copies of the book to will definitely be receiving them!  So keep up hope!  It's on the horizon :-)

In other news, I love Chai Tea.  That is all.

160 and Still Hummin'

So I'm 160 pages into my edits, and they seem to be going pretty well.  For some reason, when I wrote the sequel to Madison, my spell-checker pooped out on me.  I really need to re-install Open Office, so that I don't miss any spelling issues.

Isn't the life of an author exciting? :-D

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!  <3

Long Time, No Post

Hello everyone, I'm sorry I haven't been so talkative lately!  I'm trying to sell my house right now, and it's taking up most of my free time.  Anyway, I thought I'd let you know that I'm on page 138 out of 250 on my edits, so I'm a little more than halfway there.  I will try and get the book out as soon as I can, and I appreciate everyone's patience!  It may have to wait until after the holidays.  I'm planning on having my primary editor go over it first then I'm sending it to Tess Watson who has so graciously offered to give me her thoughts on it before I publish it.  THANK YOU TESS!!! <3 <3 <3

A Taste of My Wit

So I have a day job, and this morning I was kind of joking about hipsters.  Where I live, there's a lot of them.  I don't mind them at all, just some of their eccentricities seem interesting to me.  Anyway, so my co-worker said I was just jealous of hipsters.  My response was "Yeah, because I'm not cool enough to be uncool in a really cool way."

Anyway, the sequel to Madison/White Ops is coming along really well.  I'm on page 233, which is pretty good, and I hope to have it finished in a few months.  One thing that's slowed me down and taken up time is I invented something, and I'm trying to get a patent for it.  I can't tell anyone yet what it is, at least until the patent application is filed.  Once it is, I may try and use Kickstarter to get some seed money.  I'm really excited about it!  Don't fret though, I am still going to follow my writing dreams and hopefully entertain you in the process.  I <3 you readers!!!

Happy Friday!!!

So Friday is here, and I'm trying to get more readers interested in my books.  One thing I've realized is that the most effective way to get readers to try your books is to have your book reviewed by a well-respected blogger.  When Tess Watson of My Pathway to Books reviewed Madison, I had a ton of interest.  It made a huge difference!  I do some advertising through Goodreads, and although I do generate some clicks, it doesn't seem as effective as word-of-mouth.

For those of you who have shared your love and support of my books, please help spread the word.  Let everyone know that Madison/White Ops is on sale for $0.99, and it's totally worth the read!  <3

Busy Bumblebee!

I'm only on page 213 for the sequel to Madison/White Ops, and I totally blame my current state of business.  I have lots of meatballs on my plate right now, and I just can't eat them quickly enough.  Does anyone have some parmesan?

I plan to spend some quiet time tonight writing, so that should help with my page count.  Also planning on working out, so hopefully I can manage doing both at the same time.  I'm a multi-tasker!

As I may have mentioned before, I've also lowered the price of Madison/White Ops to just $0.99 in anticipation of me finally finishing the sequel.  I'm building up nicely to the climax, and I'm excited to see what happens!

Oh, and as always, I <3 you guys!!!

Ninety-Nine Pennies!!!

I've just lowered the price on Madison and White Ops to 99 cents for a limited time, in anticipation of the sequel I'm hoping to finish in the next couple of months.  I'm hoping to get people interested in the first one, so that they'll be excited about the sequel.  I've received very positive reviews from everyone sweet enough to review it, so I think it will take off in no time!  I'm really excited, and I hope to make new fans and new friends at the same time!  I <3 you readers!!!

I Feel Like a Turtle

So I'm making very slow but steady progress on the sequel to Madison/White Ops.  I'm currently on page 211, which isn't that bad, but I wish I was closer to 240.  I'd hoped to have the book finished by July.  That's definitely not going to happen.  But that's okay, I'd rather take my time and give you, the reader, a book worth reading.  Rushing it would keep it from becoming what I hope is an excellent sequel to a book I'm very proud of.

I'm still not set on what will happen in the remaining 70-90 pages.  I'm kind of seeing where the story takes me.  In some ways, I'm on the same journey that you take when you read my books.  As I write them, I let the characters guide me.  I follow their actions based on what I think they would do, put in whatever situation they find themselves in.  If it makes sense to go down a certain path, I go down it.  I'm just as interested and excited to see what will happen to Taylor and Madison as you are.

Thank you again my wonderful readers for your love, friendship and support.  You making this sometimes challenging task of writing worth it!  <3 <3 <3

Progress is Progress

So I haven't had a whole lot of time to write lately, but I'm trying to make up for that by... writing.  :-)  I like having lunches to myself so I can write, but I really need to set aside some time specifically for writing.  I just have so many things going on right now, it's tough to find the time to do it.

The weather outside has been kind of bi-polar today.  It's gone from cloudy and windy to beautiful, sunny skies.  It was gorgeous out this morning when I went for my run.  I can't remember ever seeing the sky so blue.  It's kept me in a pretty good mood during my day job, so I can't complain too much.

I'm thinking pretty soon I should do a signing.  There's a TON of bookstores around here, and I'd be surprised if I couldn't coax one of them into letting me sign.  Could be a lot of fun!  I'll let you know if it happens, and where it will be!  <3

Page 200, Here I Come!

So I'm flirting with page 200 in my sequel to Madison/White Ops, on page 198 and 3/4.  I'm hoping today at lunch to hit 200.  Then it'll be the downhill stretch, where I see light at the end of the tunnel, and I spend more free time writing.  The only stink thing is the weather is beautiful, and I'd rather get out and enjoy it.  I've also been spending time exercising, which takes up a lot of my free time too.  Oh, the woes of being an author that also has a full-time job.

If any authors out there also have a full-time job that isn't writing, tell me how you do it!  Coffee? Insomnia?  Controlled substances?

Three Day Weekend Awesomness!!!

So once I get home from work today, I'm going camping!  The forecast isn't too favorable: clouds, rain and a bit of wind, but if bad comes to worse, I'll just stay at a motel/hotel at the coast :-)

I love camping, especially the smell of the campfire; it always relaxes me.  Also going to bring along some bottles of wine, my Kindle (don't tell B & N), and some games to play.  Should be good times.

To all my amazing readers: I love you to pieces, and I hope that your three day weekend is incredible! <3 <3 <3

Until I Break

To say that Michelle Leighton has been an influence in my writing would be an understatement.  She is the reason I actually started writing Paranormal Romance.  The first book I read by Michelle, The Reaping, was also her first published book, and still one of my all-time favorites.  Her words flow so naturally, so amazingly well that I'm constantly in awe of her talent.  Her stories always surprise me, always touch me, and always leave me wanting more.

Today she released a new book, Until I Break, which is available on Amazon and on the Barnes & Noble website.  If you've never read one of her books, I implore you to pick one up.  She's also one of the sweetest, most genuine people you'll ever meet.  She's truly amazing.

Good Progress

So I finally hit page 180 for my sequel to Madison/White Ops.  I'm really happy with the progress I've made, and I'm looking forward to reaching the final stretch of the story.  I'm hoping the book will be about 280-300 pages, so I'm just about 2/3 done.

I'm taking the story in new and interesting directions, and I think readers will love it!

In some good news, Madison is currently at 4.8 stars on GoodReads out of 5 stars.  I'm so humbled and excited that people seem to love the story.  I just wish I had more time to promote it!  Once I finish the second book in my planned trilogy, I'll take some time to spread the word about the books.  I would also like YOUR help in getting the word out there.  Without wonderful readers like you, I couldn't have accomplished what I have so far.  You make writing, and being an author so rewarding.  Thank you everyone that's contributed and been supportive of my writing career.  I <3 you all!!!

Everybody's Workin' On The Weekend...

Hey loyal readers, I'm having to work some on my day job today.  Not terribly exciting stuff, but it helps pay the bills.  Sometimes I feel a bit like I have a secret identity: hard-working office employee by day, Paranormal Romance novelist by night!

Progress on the book is finally going well again.  I hope to have the sequel out in maybe another 3 months.

Oh, and I <3 you!!!

Busy Life Keeps It Interesting

Sorry to everyone that reads my blog, I've been super busy as of late!  I've been slowly working on the sequel to Madison/White Ops, and it looks like I may have it out sometime over the summer.  Just depends on if I can start finding more time to write.

My personal life's been going very well, it's just been a bit hectic.  One cool thing to mention is that I had my first Voodoo Donut a few weeks ago.  It was DELICIOUS!!! <3  It came with the little pretzel heart stabber, and whoever made it placed it lovingly in the most inappropriate place they could have picked!  LOL!  If you've never had Voodoo Donuts, you haven't lived!

Progress on the Sequel to Madison

I just hit page 133 this morning, which I'm actually a little disappointed by.  I would have been happier to reach page 150, but I've been super busy with life and my day job.  I just hope the book is better since I'm taking a little more time with it.  But I'm enjoying writing it so much!!!

My plan is to make a trilogy out of the Madison/White Ops books, and once I'm done I have a few ideas that have been fermenting.   I don't think I'll run out of ideas for stories, or at least I hope I don't!

Oh, and before I forget, I <3 you readers!!!

A Glowing Review of Madison from Gary Powers

Gary Powers, a reader in the U.K., was sweet enough to provide me with an amazing review of 'Madison'.  You can read about it here.  He gave me five stars, which I so greatly appreciate, and I'm glad that he enjoyed the book so much!

Slowly, Shirley

So I finally hit page 100 over the weekend!  I'm really excited about the sequel to Madison/White Ops!  It's a bit more serious, a little more spy-type stuff, a little less romance.  At least so far.  But I'll wind it back around to more romance!  <3

Michelle Leighton Signs Seven-Figure Deal!

I just found out that the author who inspired me to write Paranormal Romance has signed a seven-figure deal for her 'Bad Boys' series of books!  That's AMAZING!!!  I'm so happy for her!  She totally deserves it too!  She's so incredibly sweet to her readers, and if you haven't read any of her books, you should!  <3 <3 <3  You can check her blog out here!

My first five-star Amazon review for Madison!!!

The reader nicknamed AvidReader gave me a wonderful review on Amazon for 'Madison'; I'm so thrilled!!!  My books are doing better than I expected, and I owe it to the amazing readers out there!  Thank you so much for trying out my books and for the feedback and friendships!  I <3 you all!!!

Holy Poop, It's the New Year!!!

It's 2013 already!  That's crazy!!!  Why didn't anyone ask me if it was okay to go ahead and change the year?  I would have made them wait at least another couple of weeks.  But as much as I enjoy the holidays, I'm glad that all of the shopping and wrapping and craziness that go along with them are over.

Anyway, my book Madison/White Ops is doing incredibly well!  I'm pleasantly surprised it's doing as well as it is!  Last month, my first real month of sales was smashing!  More than I expected :-)  So if you'd like to check it out, please click on the 'My Books' tab at the top of this page.

I <3 you readers!!!
